We teach ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, aerial dance, and hip hop for all ages, including adult! Please see the dress code for disciplines below
Ballet/Pointe: A classical form of dance characterized by grace, precision, posture, and proper alignment. Students will gain knowledge of the vocabulary of ballet terminology. The skills developed in ballet are the foundation for many styles and levels of dance. Students should arrive wearing pink ballet shoes, pink tights, and a leotard of any color. Ballet skirts of any color are welcome. Students may not wear any other shorts, pants, or tops.
Tap: This exciting style has dancers wearing special shoes equipped with metal taps. Tap dancers use their feet to create rhythmic sounds and timely beats. Tap is excellent for developing musicality and coordination. Students should arrive with black tap shoes with any color tights and leotard. Students are welcome to wear form fitting dance shorts, pants, or tops over their tights and leotard.
Jazz/Aerial Dance: Based on elements of ballet and modern dance, this upbeat dance form incorporates stylized movements with technique. Dancers work on gaining strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination, musicality and performance skills through class warm-ups, progressions, and combinations. Students should wear tan tights with tan jazz shoes and a leotard of any color. Students are welcome to wear form fitting dance shorts, pants, or tops over their tights and leotard.
Lyrical/Contemporary: This expressive dance style combines the many technical elements of classical ballet, the isolations and principals of modern, and the freedom and fluidity of jazz. Lyrical/Contemporary is focused on exploring emotion through music
and movement, often portraying a story. Students should arrive with any color tights and leotard. Shoes, if necessary, will be determined by the instructor. Students are welcome to wear form fitting dance shorts, pants, or tops over their tights and leotard.
Hip Hop: A popular, high-energy, urban form of dance that uses the latest music combined with movement and choreography utilizing isolations, fluidity, floor work, athleticism, and style. Age appropriate music and movements are used for each class. Students are welcome to come in proper athletic shorts, pants, and/or tops (no jeans). Loose fitting attire is okay for this class. Students should have a separate pair of sneakers than they wear outside for optimal dance performance and to prevent any damage to the dance floor.
