Preschool Mini-Musical – We Are Monsters Songs and Scenes

Ages 3-6
Monsters and kids discover the importance of friendship and celebrating the attributes that make each of us different and unique.

By the power of singing, moving & imagination littles learn to develop their speech, to use eye contact, body language and the joy of storytelling using their body and their voice.

Rehearsals Mondays, 12:30-1:15pm
January 21 – March 18
Performance March 18, 2019.


101 Dalmatians, KIDS – 1st-4th Grades

Pet owners, Roger and Anita, live happily in London with their Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita, stalwart dogs devoted to raising their puppies. Everything is quiet until Anita’s former classmate, the monstrous Cruella De Vil, plots to steal the puppies for her new fur coat. The Dalmatians rally all the dogs of London for a daring rescue of the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen.

Rehearsals for this cast will be Tuesdays from 3:15-4:15.

Performances will be April 26, 27, and 28.

Auditions take place during the first rehearsal.

No rehearsals during BVSD Spring Break (March 25th-29th).


HONK!, Jr. – 4th-8th Grades

There will be 2 musical theater casts. Each cast will rehearse for 75 minutes on Monday and Wednesday. The exact cast time will be determined after auditions.

Synopsis: Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother’s protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.

Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays 4-5:15 or 5:15-6:30, depending on the assigned cast.

Auditions will take place January 8 (4-7pm), with callbacks on January 9.

Performances on April 5, 6, and 7.

No rehearsals during BVSD Spring Break (March 25-29).


FAME, Jr. – 7th-12th grades

Set during the last years of New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts in the early 1980s, Fame JR. is the bittersweet, but ultimately inspiring, story of a diverse group of students who commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today.

Rehearsals are Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8 pm.

Auditions will take place February 4th and, if necessary, February 6th. The director will email out audition instructions and a sign up sheet to participants.

Performances on May 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

No rehearsals during BVSD Spring Break (March 25-29).


RUTHLESS: The Musical!

This class will cover audition prep, acting instruction, vocal instruction and will culminate in the performance of a fully staged, professionally supported production of the musical Ruthless!, including costumes, sets, lights and sound. Performances Jan 11-13. Class size is limited to 8 women.

RUTHLESS: Eight-year-old Tina Denmark knows she was born to play Pippi Longstocking, and she will do anything to win the part in her school musical. Anything includes murdering the leading lady! This aggressively outrageous musical hit garnered rave reviews during its long Off-Broadway run.
