Community Connections

Lafayette is a vibrant small town with strong community involvement in annual activities.

Biking in Lafayette: Stop by the HUB or the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce to pick up brochures with maps to arts-related sites and trails, hop on your bike, and check out all that Lafayette has to offer.

Downtown (Old Town) Lafayette runs the length of Public Road, bounded by the Lafayette Recreation Center to the North and Lafayette City Hall to the South. Festival Plaza, placed in the heart of Downtown Lafayette, provides the core for Lafayette activities with quaint shops and galleries in its vicinity. The original Old Town Lafayette runs northeast of Festival Plaza along East Simpson Road (Mary Miller Theater, East Simpson Coffee Shop, the Post Brewery are just a few of the hotspots on East Simpson Road) Both the Downtown and Old Town areas are in the midst of rejuvenation, with new projects planned for the next couple of years.
