  • Andrew Krimm

    Executive Director

Andrew Krimm’s musical journey began at age seven with the viola in Dallas, Texas. His formative years led him to the University of Colorado Boulder in 2006, where he pursued a Bachelor of Music degree under the tutelage of Erika Eckert and Geraldine Walther. In 2011, his passion for performance deepened at Southern Methodist University while studying for a Performer’s Diploma with Ellen Rose. It was during this period that Andrew co-founded the Altius Quartet, a string ensemble that quickly garnered acclaim, securing first prizes at the Coltman and Plowman Chamber Music Competitions, and a Silver Medal at the prestigious Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

The quartet’s residency at SMU proved fruitful, leading Andrew back to Boulder in 2015 to study with the Takacs Quartet. The Altius Quartet benefitted from a three-year residency at CU-Boulder, honing both their artistic and entrepreneurial skills. A career milestone was reached in 2016 when Andrew, with the Altius Quartet, graced the stage of Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The ensemble has a rich discography, with an innovative debut album released in April 2017 that showcases a fusion of genres, encompassing works from Haydn to Dave Brubeck, and an interpretation of a-ha. Their second album, released in October 2017, delves into the intense emotional landscapes of Shostakovich’s “Personal Quartets” Nos. 7, 8, and 9, under the PARMA Recordings label.

Andrew’s leadership extended beyond performance as he served as the Board President for the Western Slope Concert Series, and later as the Executive Director in 2018. Though his tenure as the Executive Director of the Boulder Symphony & Music Academy has concluded, he has embraced the role of Executive Director of the Arts HUB in Lafayette, CO, where he continues to advocate for the arts in the community.

Residing in Longmont, Colorado with his wife, fellow violist Stephanie Mientka, and their son, Walter. Andrew balances his musical and administrative endeavors with his fervent support for the Dallas Cowboys, claiming the title of the most outrageous and passionate fan there is.

  • Mekenzie Rosen-Stone

    Director of Programming

Mekenzie grew up in the theatre, both figuratively and literally. Getting an early start in the theatrical world has shaped her life, and has been the foundation for her work as an arts educator and performer today. Making her Broadway debut at the age of eight, she has worked on several Broadway and National Tours, in regional and collegiate theatre, and in film and television. Her favorite productions include Annie, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Evita, Guys and Dolls, The Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Les Miserables, Fiddler On the Roof, and Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Mekenzie went on to pursue a Bachelors of Arts in Arts Management from the College of Charleston, where she also danced for her college’s NCAA dance team. Following college, she did a brief stint in Los Angeles working in the music and entertainment industry, before finding her second passion in wellness and health. For many years she worked as a personal trainer, health coach, yoga teacher, and dance instructor for adults and children.

Once she had her first child, she realized she wanted to impact the lives of the youth through arts and wellness, so she began teaching yoga, dance, and musical theatre to children at the JCC Denver and Baltimore, as well as Arts & Minds in Denver. She returned to performing in Longmont at Jesters Dinner Theatre, where she has rediscovered her love of being on the stage. She hopes to inspire the youth through the magical world of the arts so that they can sing, dance, and act to create a brighter future.
